In the Eramam Kuttur Grama Panchayat of Kannur district, near Vellora, a divine revelation occurred during a spiritual inquiry at a sacred serpent shrine. It was revealed that constructing a grand temple at an appropriate location between Vellora and Ezhimala, as divinely indicated, and consecrating it with the Anantheshwara concept would bring prosperity and well-being to all.
Shortly after, an unusual stone was unexpectedly discovered by the priest of Vellora Subramanya Temple from the Kadavanad region. When an attempt was made to chisel it, the stone bled, drawing attention to its extraordinary serpent presence. Subsequent investigations led to the ruins of an abandoned temple and a sacred serpent grove. Further divine revelations confirmed the presence of Lord Anantha Bhagavan.
Elderly residents recall that the Kadavanad mountain ranges were once home to gigantic serpents, and even today, there are numerous testimonies of their presence.
With the complete support of the local community, a temporary shrine (Balalayam) was built, and the deity was consecrated. Since then, regular worship has been conducted under the leadership of the temple Tantri. On the second Thursday of every Malayalam month, the temple remains open for worship with the active participation of devotees.
Additionally, owing to divine revelations, the presence of Goddess Vanadurga in her forest abode form was identified. A special open-air sanctum was built for her, where prayers are regularly offered. Devotees believe that worshiping the goddess removes hardships and brings prosperity. Severe planetary afflictions, enemy-related issues, and even supernatural disturbances are alleviated through her divine grace.
The temple also houses sub-deities, including Lord Ganesha, Lord Murugan, Lord Ayyappa, Lord Hanuman, Vasuki Naga, Nagayini Amma, and Nagayakshi, along with a revered Guru Samadhi.
The Anantheshwara Pooja, conducted with great significance during the monthly rituals, is believed to be highly effective in resolving issues related to health, employment, marriage, and financial prosperity. Devotees have testified to its miraculous benefits.
